Making up a story
You can use your imagination to create your very own story with characters, a place, and something exciting that happens!
Have you ever closed your eyes and imagined a world where animals could talk, or where you could fly through the clouds? That is exactly what making up a story is! When you make up a story, you use your imagination to invent something that did not really happen. You get to decide everything โ who is in the story, where they are, and what happens to them. It is like being the boss of your very own little world!
Every story has a few special ingredients. First, there are characters โ these are the people, animals, or even magical creatures your story is about. Next, there is a setting โ that is the place where your story happens, like a cosy forest or a busy city. Then something interesting happens, and that is called the plot. Think of it like a recipe: characters + setting + plot = a story!
Here is an example. Imagine a little rabbit named Biscuit who lives in a meadow. One morning, Biscuit wakes up and discovers that all the flowers have turned blue overnight. She goes on a gentle adventure to find out why. That is a made-up story! Here is another example: a friendly robot called Zip lives on a cloud and wants to learn how to make rainbows. Zip tries different colours until the perfect rainbow appears. See how easy it is? You just need a character, a place, and something to happen!
You do not need anything special to make up a story โ just your wonderful imagination. You can whisper your story to a friend, draw it in pictures, or write it down. Every single story you make up is special because it came from YOU. ๐ Here is something to think about: If you could make up a story about any animal in any place in the world, which animal would you choose and where would they live?
