Long ago and today
We can compare how life was different a long time ago and how it looks now!
Have you ever looked at an old photo of your grandparents when they were little? Things looked very different back then! "Long ago" means a time before you were born โ maybe when your grandparents or even their grandparents were children. "Today" means right now, the world we live in. Comparing long ago and today helps us understand how life has changed over time.
Here is a fun example: Long ago, people traveled by horse and carriage. It was slow and bumpy! Today, we travel in cars, buses, and airplanes that go much faster. The way we get from place to place has changed a lot!
Here is another example: Long ago, children played with wooden toys, spinning tops, and rag dolls. Today, children can also play with video games, tablets, and plastic toys with lots of colours. Some things change, but playing and having fun has always been important!
Here is something to think about: Can you think of one thing in your home that might have looked very different long ago โ maybe the telephone, the television, or something in the kitchen? What do you think it looked like before?
