People who help us
There are special people in our community whose job is to keep us safe, healthy, and happy every day!
Have you ever wondered who helps us when we feel sick, or who keeps our streets safe? All around us, there are people whose job is to help others. We call them helpers or community helpers. They work hard every single day so that we can live safely and happily. Isn't that wonderful?
Let's think about a doctor. A doctor works at a clinic or hospital. When you have a sore throat or a tummy ache, the doctor listens to your body, figures out what is wrong, and helps you feel better. They are trained specially to take care of our health.
Now think about a firefighter. Firefighters are very brave people who rush to help when there is a fire. They wear special protective suits and use big hoses to put out fires. They also help people who are stuck or hurt. You might have seen their big red fire truck driving through your neighbourhood!
There are many other helpers too — teachers, police officers, nurses, librarians, and bus drivers, just to name a few. Each one has a special role that makes our community a better place. Here is something to think about: Which community helper do you see most often near your home, and how do they help people around you?
