Rhyming words
Rhyming words are words that end with the same sound, and they make reading and singing super fun!
Have you ever sung a song or heard a poem that sounded bouncy and musical? That magic often comes from rhyming words! Rhyming words are words that end with the same sound. They don't have to look the same β they just need to sound the same at the end. Isn't that cool?
Here is our first example: cat and hat. Say them out loud β catβ¦ hat. Do you hear how they both end with that "-at" sound? They rhyme! You could even picture a funny cat wearing a hat!
Here is our second example: moon and spoon. Say them slowly β moonβ¦ spoon. They both end with that "-oon" sound. You might imagine a spoon floating up to visit the moon on a quiet night!
Now here is something fun to think about: Can you think of a word that rhymes with dog? Say some words out loud and listen carefully to the ending sound. There is no wrong answer β just keep listening and exploring! πΎ
