Colors and mixing them
Learn about the special colors that start everything, and discover what happens when you mix colors together!
Have you ever painted a picture or used crayons to draw? Colors are all around us โ in flowers, in the sky, in your clothes, and even in your food! Some colors are called primary colors. These are red, blue, and yellow. They are very special because you cannot make them by mixing other colors together. They are the starting colors!
When you mix two primary colors together, something magical happens โ you get a brand new color called a secondary color. For example, if you mix red and yellow paint together, you get orange! And if you mix blue and yellow, you get green!
Here is another fun example from everyday life: Imagine you have a cup of red juice and you pour in some blue juice. The drink slowly turns purple! That is because red and blue mixed together make purple. Mixing colors is like a little science experiment you can do with paint, crayons, or even light!
Now here is something to think about: If you had only red, blue, and yellow paint, which two colors would YOU mix together first, and what color do you hope to make? ๐จ
