Sharing and taking turns
Sharing and taking turns means letting others have a chance too, so everyone feels happy and included.
What is sharing and taking turns?
Sharing means letting someone else use or enjoy something that you have โ like a toy, a snack, or a book. Taking turns means each person gets a chance to do something, one at a time. When we share and take turns, everyone feels included and cared for. It is one of the kindest things we can do for the people around us!
Example 1: Sharing crayons
Imagine you and your friend are both drawing pictures. You have a big box of crayons, but your friend only has a few. You could share your crayons so you can both make colourful, beautiful drawings together. Your friend would feel so happy, and you would feel proud for being kind!
Example 2: Taking turns on the swings
At the playground, lots of children want to use the swings. Instead of everyone pushing to go first, you each take a turn. One child swings for a little while, then the next child has a go. Everyone gets to swing, and nobody feels left out. Taking turns makes the playground a fun place for all!
Something to think about ๐
Can you think of a time today โ at home, at school, or with a friend โ when you could share something or let someone else have a turn first? How do you think that would make them feel?
